St. Francis Chardonnay, 2006 California

This chard from California is one for the Chardonnay lovers!  To be direct, you have to like oak, creaminess and a full-bodied wine.  This wine gets a lot of flavor from aging on its lees (sediment), goes through malolactic fermentation (turns harsh acids into smooth/creamy acids) and then is aged in French & American oak barrels for about 6 months.  I think this gives it a nice balance of toastiness.  It’s drinking very nicely right now and would be great to give as a gift or bring to a party!
