Argyle Pinot Noir, Oregon

“An iron fist in a velvet glove”… a sexy name for a sexy wine!  It is about the most fickle, most delicate grape in the world yet it creates one of the most complex wines.  It is intense in flavor and bouquet, yet smooth, refined and elegant.  Pinot tends to pair beautifully with almost any food you match it with, as it won’t over power your lighter dishes (like chicken or seafood) and a nice oak aged Pinot with pronounced tannins will stand up to beef.

The Argyle Pinot from Oregon is from the Willamette Valley and is one the most gorgeous Pinot’s that I’ve tasted!  It is very fruit forward, has silky smooth tannins and a touch of spice.  What a great wine to drink all on its own, but we were pairing some great cheeses with Pinot’s the night of our Pinot class and a nice Beemster goes great!  Enjoy!
