Goats do Roam White & Red
I’m always willing to try any wine that ticks off the French and this weeks ”crushin’ on wine” is no exception! See, the French thought that some Americans were too dumb to recognize the difference between a “Cotes du Rhone” wine of France and the “Goats do Roam” wines of South Africa. In fact, they tried to stop the trademark of the name here in America. Again, all because they think Americans aren’t the brightest bulbs in the box and won’t know the difference. Well now, I MUST try this wine!!! Let’s see what all the fuss is about. Ryan’s just brought in the “Goats do Roam White and Red”, which are both made with traditional Rhone varietals. The white is a beautiful, rich, fairly full-bodied blend of Viognier (yum- my favorite!) with Grenache Blanc and Rousanne. It’s very aromatic and just a really delicious wine! The red is a blend of Syrah, Cinsaut and Mourvedre. The prices are UNBELIEVABLE on these wines (come in around $8). Well, next time my French friends come over and their dying to try a nice French wine, I’ll tell them to grab the bottle of the “Goats do Roam” from the wine rack. I mean, they’ll never know the difference anyways…
